Haiku Journey: Battling Terminal Illness

Haiku Journey: Battling Terminal Illness

Unknown illness haunts

Doctor delivers heartbreak

Rainstorm mirrors tears

Battling cancer

“I am at peace with dying”

Fearless warrior

Struggles while death looms

Nurses miss trauma warnings

Dad begs for son’s life

View of hospital

Spring preparing for summer

Sunshine brings new hope

Family’s prayerful dawn

Future clouded by unknown

Unified in God

For all those traditional Haiku masters out there, please forgive my form theft. In deference to my friend, who did not want to talk or write about this, I needed brevity to make my point.
